Invisalign is a modern, alternative approach to straightening teeth. It uses a series of custom-made aligners that are made of virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth.
They are smooth and extremely comfortable to wear because they’re custom made to the shape of your teeth and jaws.
We achieve this custom fit using the iTero Intraoral Digital scanner, which enables us to get accurate 3D scans of your teeth from which to create your aligners. This custom fit also means they’re effective and can achieve results faster than many traditional orthodontic appliances.
The aligners gently and gradually move the teeth into place. Generally you change the set of aligners you've been wearing once a week and over time your teeth move into their desired position.
The best part is that most people won’t even know you are straightening your teeth.
Benefits of Invisalign Treatment
There are many benefits to Invisalign treatment, which is why it’s an orthodontic treatment method we like to work with:
There are so many different types of braces to choose from thanks in part to developments in orthodontic technology. However, here at The Orthodontist, we still offer the traditional method of treatment – metal braces.
Effective and increasingly discreet – traditional metal braces have a lot going for them. Their design, using brackets, archwires and elastic bands to move teeth into position, is still incredibly effective.
If you are concerned about your appearance while having orthodontic treatment, we can take that concern away with the use of ceramic braces.
Ceramic braces are just like traditional metal braces but with one small difference – the brackets which are fitted to the surface of your teeth are made from a very fine, translucent porcelain which blends in with the colour of your teeth. This makes them much less visible than metal braces.
It also means they are perfect for our patients who are feeling self-conscious about having treatment. Ceramic braces are one of our more discreet treatment options we have available and they’re no less effective at straightening teeth than the other appliances we use.
